Hawaiʻi's beloved nēnē is the rarest goose in the world with a lot of history. Not long ago, nēnē were on the brink of extinction. In 1949, less than 30 nēnē remained in the wild. Conservationists started a nēnē breeding program to bolster nēnē populations, resulting in an outstanding a conservation success story. Though nēnē numbers have greatly increased, these geese still remain threatened and imperiled by introduced predators such as feral cats and mongoose. Efforts to protect nēnē and their nests are ongoing throughout Hawaiʻi.
This soft cotton ringer tee tells the nēnē's story in just three words.
