The Hawaiian hoary bat (ʻōpeʻapeʻa) is an endangered species endemic to Hawaiʻi. ʻŌpeʻapeʻa are the only native land mammal found throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Rather than roosting in caves, these tiny bats sleep in trees.
